About Us

La Coopérative de Transport de Cheticamp, better known as L’Acabie, is a community based, charitable, non-profit, cooperative transportation. We were established in 2010 and started operating in 2012. L’Acabie provides transportation to anyone in Northern Inverness County and even surrounding areas, when the need is there. L’Acabie continues to serve seniors, persons with disabilities and special needs, and all those needing reliable, affordable transportation.

L’Acabie continues to serve seniors, persons with disabilities and special needs, on low income, and all those needing reliable, affordable transportation.

When l’Acabie started operating way back in 2012, it was mostly in the area of Cheticamp and our drivers were all volunteers. We have since expanded our service area to include the area from Inverness to up past Pleasant Bay in the west, to just east of Whycocomagh and following up the Inverness County line.

Since L’Acabie is a charitable association, we can offer lifetime memberships in our Cooperative. We encourage and welcome new members to join at a low, one-time cost of $5.00. It’s a real barging for a Lifetime Membership.

As a charitable association, we are always willing to use volunteers. If you would like to help out we’ll find something for you to do!
